Join us at Shir Tikvah as we welcome Dr. Richard Freund, author of Digging through History: Religion and Archaeology from Atlantis to the Holocaust.

Dr. Freund’s will speak about “The 10 Greatest Archeological Discoveries of the Holy Land”

Dr. Freund, is the Director of the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies and Greenberg Professor of Jewish History at the University of Hartford and has directed six different archaeological projects on behalf of the University of Hartford in Israel, including Bethsaida, Qumran, the Cave of Letters, Nazareth, Yavne, and Har Karkom, as well as a unique project in Poland (Sobibor) and in two separate projects in Spain (Burgos and Cadiz). 

He is the author of eight books, over 100 scholarly articles and has appeared in fifteen television documentaries on the History Channel, Discovery, NOVA, CNN and PBS.

From 1983-86 he directed the Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano, (following Rabbi Marshal Meyer) the only rabbinical seminary of Latin America in Buenos Aires, Argentina and was a member of the President of Argentina’s council on Human Rights.

He is an ordained Rabbi and a member of the Rabbinical Assembly.
