Cry Unto Pharoah: A Shabbat Service of Faith, Love & Chutzpah

On the day America inaugurates a president who traffics in bigotry, we join together in faithful resistance.

Generations ago, our Torah teaches that a motley band of slaves confronted a controlling, evil ruler: “We demand our freedom! We demand our dignity!”

Moses cried out on their behalf, “Let My People Go!”

Humanity hungers for liberty, freedom, and dignity.

Generations later, we join with one another to speak boldly and courageously to our newly inaugurated President that our faith compels us to protect the widow, the orphan, the immigrant, the poor.

We know where we’ve come from; we’ve seen tyranny before. We won’t forget the desperate places we survived, the Pharaoh’s we’ve confronted, the moral courage we need to resist Pharaoh’s indignity.

We join together to speak out for our deepest moral values: Peace. Justice. Integrity. Human Dignity. Care for the planet.

C’mon! Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Agnostics, Native Americans, African Americas, Latinos, Transpeople, Immigrants, GLBTQ—Whoever you are, whatever you believe, we celebrate your creation as a Divine Blessing! We value the contributions of your hands, the songs of your hearts.

Let’s lift our voices in song, tears, prayer, and defiance against despair.

Let’s build, together, a community where EVERYONE is respected. An America worthy of our children’s dreams.

Make your feet pray. Let’s show the world what happens when people embrace one another and work together.

Let’s create a Holy Ruckus for Justice and Compassion and Human Decency!

Join us for Shabbat: The Holy Inspiration to move our souls and our community from the world as it is to the world as it MUST be: Over flowing with compassion and love.
