Tish Before Services

Please join your Shir Tikvah friends & Rabbi Rodich on Friday January 16th at 6:15pm for a brief Tish before Shabbat services.

What’s a tish? Tish is the Yiddish word for “table.” In hassidic tradition, a tish is a joyous gathering around a table for study, singing and story telling. We’re going to experiment with this tradition at Shir Tikvah as one way to help us welcome Shabbat.  We may study a few verses of text, tell a story, sing some niggunim and have an optional scotch or non -alcoholic beverage for a l’chaim as we welcome Shabbat and let the week behind us be….behind us! Those that are interested will gather for 10-15 minutes in the library before regular services.
