Camp Nehirim Information Session facilitated by Harvey Perle

Camp Nehirim for GBT Jewish Men & Friends, 8/20 - 24, Easton Mountain Retreat Center, Greenwich, NY catering to the interests of Gay, Bi, and Trans Men in the Jewish community.

Nehirim is a national community of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Jews, families, and allies, committed to a more just and inclusive world.

Nehirim is best known for its weekend retreats – transformative, fun and inclusive weekends of LGBT Jewish community and spirituality.  All kinds of people come to Nehirim retreats:  religious, secular, queer, straight allies, Jewish, non-Jewish partners and families, and people of all different sexual orientations, gender identities, economic backgrounds, ethnic backgrounds, and ages.

This particular retreat is five days of swimming, hiking, Frisbee, river tubing, campfires, cookouts, delicious food, inspiring workshops, spiritual practice and Ruach !!  The results are the construction of a warm & supportive international community.

Harvey Perle is the Assistant Director for Men’s Camp for the second year, under the direction of Rabbi David Dunn-Bauer, an experienced leader in the LGBT Jewish community.   This year, our Scholar-In-Residence will be Rabbi Jacob J. Staub, Ph.D., a Reconstructionist Rabbi since 1977, who has served on the faculty since 1983.  He is also the Chair of the Department of Medieval Jewish Civilization, professor of Jewish philosophy and spirituality and director of the Jewish Spiritual Direction Program.
