Judy Silver was named Education Director in the fall of 2005 and has been a teacher in our Religious and Hebrew Schools for many years.

She brings great educational expertise to the task, including a BA in Judaic Studies, and a Bachelor of Education degree. As Education Director, Judy works closely with the Religious School Committee to oversee and implement all of Shir Tikvah's youth education programs. She functions as the director/ principal of the Religious School and Hebrew School.

The Education Director:

• Develops and implements curriculum
• Recruits teachers for Religious and Hebrew School
• Hires and supervises our STiFTY and Junior Youth Group Advisors
• Prepares the budgets for Religious and Hebrew School
• Writes grant applications for educational programs
• Develops special programming
• Prepares our 11th and 12th grade teaching assistants (Madrichim)
• Is a member of the National Association of Temple Educators
